$15 Minimum Wage

“It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country”

-Franklin Delano Roosevelt

It is demeaning to ask someone to work for a rate that doesn’t give them dignity and some level of comfortability. Many people who are in these jobs don’t have any level of economic stability to take the risk and look for a better paying job. They live paycheck to paycheck. Many Americans face discomfort that forces them to have to work 2 or 3 jobs that will “conveniently” only have them work 23.5 hours as a loophole to avoid providing benefits. Enacting a $15 minimum wage that is tied to inflation and production growth allows people of any age, background, or experience to provide for their family while still being dignified in the workplace.
