LAB. Introduction


  • Advanced Power Interface & Power Electronics Lab. (APIPEL) is established as an Intelligent Power Interface Research Center to develop various power conversion systems for the high efficiency of electric power and the smart interface of clean energy sources.

  • The research of APIPEL is focused on power conversion, power control, and power interface technology for various industrial applications of consumer electronics, renewable energy, electric vehicles, etc.

  • Particular interests are concerned with power applications of smart grids, wireless power transmission, dc micro/nano grids, real-time & power hardware-in-the-loop simulation using power converter/inverter topologies, power semiconductors, and digital signal processors with intelligent signal processing and digital control algorithms.

  • Power network emulations for various grid, distributed power sources, and EV load

  • Power HIL simulation for fast-prototyping and real/virtual hybrid testing


Energy-related Power Interface

  • BMS and ESS power conversions for various battery applications

  • Energy harvesting power circuits for small energy sources


Advanced Digital Control and Signal Processing Techniques for Power Electronics
