Whether it’s an injury that happened last week, or something that has nagged for 20 years, pain is neither inevitable nor permanent. You should never “just live with it.” In our clinic, we use proven, cutting-edge techniques that combine classical acupuncture with modern electrical medicine, achieving a 90% success rate. Take action now to initiate your recovery without delay.
Internal medicine problems never arise in isolation; they reflect long-standing functional imbalances. We strive to identify and correct these imbalances to prevent disease in the body. When disease is already present (such as heart disease, digestive problems, fertility issues, insomnia, or allergies), we consider all contributing factors and provide comprehensive treatment to restore function to the body.
The stress of modern life often leads to hormonal and neurological changes that we experience as anxiety, depression, or a combination of both. Chinese medicine corrects these physiological changes. Acupuncture does not just calm the mind; it upgrades function, strengthens what is weak, and returns the body to running as it was designed, so people can be excited about the life they are creating.
Hi,
I am Alistair T. Jones L.Ac., Dipl.O.M.
About your Practitioner:
Meet Alistair T. Jones Licensed Acupuncturist, Diplomate in Oriental Medicine.
Alistair came to this medicine out of an intense desire to help people. While attending the Yale Divinity School, and informed by a decade of studying Tai Chi, (which began while earning his B.A. in Religious Studies at Reed College in Portland, OR) Alistair discerned that his true calling was to heal people through Chinese medicine. He earned his Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin, in Texas, in 2005 and worked alongside M.D.’s in family practice until moving to Virginia in 2009. He was the Director of the Department of Oriental Medicine at the Advanced Wellness Centre in Richmond from 2010- 2020. What began as a desire to have an impact has evolved into a focus on extraordinary results for his clients.
Alistair has developed a style of acupuncture called Tactile Acupuncture (TA), which focuses on producing instantaneous results that are demonstrable to the client and practitioner simultaneously. TA is grounded in Japanese acupuncture theory and is informed by specialized studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Auricular Acupuncture. In recent years, he has incorporated cutting edge electro-acupuncture into his treatments which has further increased their effectiveness, while reducing treatment length. His motto is, ”You don’t have to believe in acupuncture to experience results.”
In addition to acupuncture, Alistair also compounds Chinese herbs to make customized herbal medicine to address internal medicine issues. He maintains an extensive pharmacy of both single herbs and classical formulas which he combines to make medicine which can be modified on a weekly basis so that as the body changes, the herbs are adapted to best support the body’s return to health.
Alistair is an avid adventurer and outdoorsman who loves to hike, bike, ski, grow food and camp with family and friends. When he’s not in the clinic he’s probably doing something fun outside with Sylvia, his wife, and their three children.
What is it? Tactile Acupuncture (TA) is an acupuncture system that is exceptionally effective at comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. The system excels at “pain management,” but it moves beyond “managing pain” to discerning specific functional imbalances present between the soft tissue and organ systems of the body which hold pathology in place. Unlike Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where the effects are hoped to be obtained sometime after treatment, TA diagnosis identifies palpable reflex patterns in the body and TA treatment create instantaneous changes to those reflex areas, so that clients feels immediate change.
