Actually, I just wanted to get rid of "Google Search" from my start screen, which shouldn't work. In short, tried a few launchers and came across this one. Great! In fairness I will buy the Pro Verson...

The first thing we are going to need is a launcher. A launcher is like a replacement for your homescreen and app drawer. There are countless launchers out there and I consider Apex and Nova to be the best, because they are low-ram consuming and offer loads of customizations. Out of these 2, we are gonna be using Apex launcher.

Now go to your Homescreen. Remove all the widgets. For the wallpaper, long press on the homescreen, Add wallpaper and choose Aroundfull and select the wallpaper. Double tap on the homescreen and select apex settings and set the options like this.

What about placing some funny and colorful ads in between apps? Also, you wouldn't mind watching a short video before changing your app icons, right? No, just kidding, that won't happen. Most of us, especially me, can't stand advertisements. Ads just don't fit into a clean launcher.

There are many launchers out there, and almost all of their Pro versions can be unlocked by a one-time purchase. As a result, the model seems sustainable at first glance, but this is a deceiving picture.

There's also Microsoft Launcher. It doesn't even offer a pro version. Microsoft also doesn't want to generate revenue from the launcher itself. The launcher intends to bring you into their ecosystem instead with Office apps, Outlook, Cortana & Skype, and by syncing your phone with your Windows PC.

All in all, the histories of several launchers show that a one-time purchase for just an independent launcher is not enough to support ongoing development costs, in my opinion. Okay, now let's get down to the nitty-gritty:

Microsoft Arrow Launcher is a launcher app developed by Microsoft with an elegant and practical interface. It doesn't have any fancy new features, but still offers everything an Android user would want in a tool like this.

Microsoft Arrow Launcher is an excellent launcher for Android that has some really useful features and a beautiful interface. If fact, you can even choose in the options to update the wallpaper daily to Bing's image of the day.

Launcher iOS 16 is a launcher that lets you give your Android device the same look as iOS 13. And, remarkably, it not only lets you change the look of interface to make it prettier, but also adds some extra features that make your device even more like an iPhone.

Launcher iOS 16 is a powerful Android launcher that gives a very elegant look to your Android by 'disguising' it as an iPhone with some very interesting features and a good number of pretty wallpapers.

In the paid, Pro version, you get lots of extras, but the greatest is that it offers theme support from all the other major launchers. So all those themes from Go Launcher, LauncherPro and ADW is supported, making it truly customizable. Apex Launcher Pro is going for $3.99 in the Play Store.

Apex Launcher is a free launcher that gives you the option to create a personalized home screen experience. The Apex Launcher Classic software is a fantastic option for users because to its many features. It offers a home screen and app drawer grid size that are both fully customisable, a scrollable dock with up to 10 icons per page and up to 5 pages, limitless and elastic scrolling, elegant transition effects, and the option to hide items as desired. Additionally, you may select several folder preview backgrounds and layouts, as well as organize the drawer apps by name, installed date, and frequency of use. The software also features powerful theme engine, home screen gestures, and data and setting backup/restore.

This week the folks behind Apex Launcher just completely lost their minds. Or they completely lost their minds if you ask their many thousands of users, many of whom just dropped majorly negative reviews on their app on the Google Play app store. This isn't entirely without precedent, but it's a good time for a reminder. When you update your Android launcher, you're going to want to be careful not do erase user settings in the process.

All you need to do is install the app, open the app settings either via the Apex Settings icon or by long pressing on the homescreen, tap on the Pro Free badge and then restart the launcher (thanks, AppSales).

This isn't up to Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, but up to the system. If your system does not allow you to enable gesture navigation when using a 3rd party launcher, unfortunately there is nothing Nova Launcher can do about that. Most Android 11 or newer devices do allow using gesture navigation with 3rd party launchers, however sometimes there are bugs or behavior differences between gesture navigation when using their launcher versus another one. Unfortunately this is not something Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, can change, it is dependent on the system, Google and your device manufacturer.

Nova, nor and other 3rd party launcher, has any access to the recent apps screen in any way. That's all up to your device OEM and Android and the recent apps screen is tied to the stock launcher of your device. You will experience these issues in all 3rd party launchers, not your stock launcher and not just specifically Nova. You will need to contact your device OEM directly with any issues regarding the recent apps screen.

You can get in touch through Nova Settings > Contact support or sending an email directly to(support@novalauncher.com). If you're having a specific issue, using the Contact support button in the app will provide us with detailed information that will help.

There are three ways to hide apps on Android: to disable default apps, use app hiding apps for non default apps and to put apps in secured folders. As for iphones, the choice is only one, to bury apps in a folder.

One of the easiest ways is to transform your phone is to download a custom launcher. These apps completely replace your home screen and give you the tools to drastically change how everything looks and operates. But with so many options on the Play Store, it can be overwhelming for you to choose which one.

After testing many popular launchers, we determined that Nova, Apex, Evie, ADW, and Action are the five best launchers out there. We broke down some of the valuable tools provided by these apps and outlined what they do. Each launcher has its strengths and weakness, but after reading this, you'll be able to confidently choose a new home screen and make your phone look exactly as you want it.

Based on user feedback and Play Store downloads, we narrowed our list down to these five launchers. We installed each launcher on various flagship and mid-range devices, thus enabling us to test the launchers on multiple versions of Android and see their impact on performance. To see the full capabilities of each app, we used the paid version when available. However, for our frugal viewers, we made sure to mention what features are missing from the free version.

Out of all the launchers on this list, Nova Launcher was the first to integrate Google Now without requiring root or Magisk. To use Google Now, you just need the latest version of Nova Launcher and the Nova Google Companion app. Once installed, you can access the Google Now settings menu and enable the feature.

Prime also provides the ability to create groups within the app drawer. Isolated by tabs, these groups allow better segmentation of apps and easier access. You are also able to open apps or shortcuts by swiping up or down on an application, and Nova Prime is one of the few launchers out there that let you create folders in your app drawer.

Overall, Nova Launcher strikes a great balance between performance and functionality. It may lack a couple of minor niche features compared to others in this list, but it's loaded with customization options nonetheless, and its performance is absolutely top-notch. With the plethora of features in the free version, quick implementation of new features in its beta version, and overall smooth performance, we crown this the best launcher.

Finally, my only real gripe with this launcher is its slow performance when modifying the settings. Even on flagship devices with the latest version of Android, Action Launcher continues to have a delay when implementing any tweaks. Any modification to the settings will lead to a second or two delay and screen redraw. Although most launchers have occasional screen redraws due to not being a system app, this one was noticeably problematic regardless of hardware used, Android version, or RAM size. However, all other functions of the app (such as scrolling between home screens and menus) performed smoothly with no noticeable issues. ff782bc1db
