The Structure of a Research Report

Psychological research reports have a number of key sections. These sections are shown on the diagram.

Sections marked with a * start at the top of a new page. The other sections begin with a heading below the previous section.

All sections except the Title page and Introduction start with the heading shown in the diagram. The Title of the report is placed on the title page (first page) of your assignment and also at the top of the first page of the Introduction section.

The Appendix is not always needed in a report, it is an optional section and should only be used when needed.

Hover your mouse over the diagram and click on each button to learn about that section of the research report [Please note that this will open a new window browser] or use the navigation buttons at the top of the page.
