I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Lehigh University. I worked as a research assistant in the Computer Vision Research Lab with Dr. Kevin Bowyer, Dr. Walter Scheirer and Dr. Patrick Flynn at the University of Notre Dame and graduated with my Ph.D. in 2020. Prior to that, I graduated from IIIT-Delhi with a B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering and specialized in Image Analysis and Machine Intelligence. I conducted research during the senior years of my undergrad under the supervision of Dr. Mayank Vatsa and Dr. Richa Singh. My research interests include Image Forensics, Computer Vision, Biometrics, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning.
Prospective Students: I am looking for self-motivated M.S., Ph.D. students and visitors. Please send me an email at aparna.bharati@lehigh.edu with details about your experience, areas of interest and reasons for pursuing graduate studies/research.
Research Statement: Major goals of my work are the following:
Re-establish trust in visual media and popular information mediums
Understand human perception to modify modern forensic approaches
Improve generalizability of models used for visual learning
Dive deeper into visual tasks that humans may not be proficient in
