Sync AOL mail with the windows mail client

Windows mail is the official mail client of windows and comes in-built in windows 8 and windows 10 OS. It offers a single dashboard to access different mail accounts.

If your email account supports IMAP and POP settings, you can easily sync it with windows mail.

For linking AOL mail with windows mail you will need the server settings to send and receive mail. We have mentioned the settings below, but you may not have to enter them because the latest windows mail is equipped to set the settings automatically.

Link AOL mail account with windows Mail

Launch windows mail. You will find the icon on the desktop or search it in the start menu.

On the main screen of windows, mail click on the settings button. It will be a gear icon in the lower-left of the screen.

On the settings window select account, then click on add an account link.

A pop-up window will open up, here you have to choose the type of account.

Navigate through the list and click on the other account option.

Provide your AOL mail email, then your name, and click the next button.

If the server settings are not set by default you have to configure them manually.

Select IMAP for email type and enter imap.AOL.com for the incoming server.

For outgoing mail server settings type smtp.AOL.com

Also, check the option, "Outgoing Server Requires Authentica", then click on Next.

Now enter the password of your AOL mail account and click on the finish button.

If you don't want to go through the login process, every time you check your mail, you can select the "remember me" option.

Go back to the settings menu of widows mail and select the AOL mail account you have just created.

Select the properties option, then click on the advance tab.

In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box enter 587 and click on the apply button.

Close the Mail window. You can now switch between your different mail accounts from the windows mail menu. Also, you can send receive and view your AOL mail via windows 10 mail client.
