Hi, Anushka here!
I am currently working at Donders Centre for Neuroscience, Radboud University, Netherlands on how aberrant network activity and circuit hyperexcitability shape memory consolidation, and how disruptions in these neural dynamics can be a subclinical signature of AD. My Masters' thesis at JNCASR under the supervision of Prof. KS Narayan, was to understand how electroactive substrate geometries affect growth, synaptic connectivity and neuronal network formation in-vitro, combining quantitative imaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling. Alongside my current position, I am also looking at theoretical aspects as to what sorts of network motifs are emerging in the neuronal network formation on the substrates, as an extension of my thesis work.

Happy sciencing!

My overarching interests lie in understanding how the brain achieves memory and how impairments lead to cognitive dysfunction and abnormal patterns of neuronal network activity that accompany several neurodegenerative disorders at systems level. I am also inclined towards research on multisensory integration, predictive coding, and the dynamic interaction between sensory cortices and memory systems. Given my training in Masters, I am also interested in developing tools and looking into how the knowledge in long term memory consolidation and storage can be capitalized to implicate memory enhancement.
