I recently completed my Master's in Interdisciplinary Biosciences, specializing in Neuroscience, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bangalore, India. My work is on how electroactive polymer substrates shape synaptic connectivity and spatial memory encoding and network formation, combining quantitative imaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling. Alongside this, I am looking at theoretical aspects as to what sorts of network motifs are emerging in the neuronal network formation on the substrates; under the supervision of Prof KS Narayan at Molecular Electronics Lab, Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit, and Neurosciences Unit, JNCASR.

My overarching interests lie in understanding how the brain achieves memory and how impairments lead to cognitive dysfunction and abnormal patterns of neuronal network activity that accompany several neurodegenerative disorders at systems level. I am also inclined towards research on multisensory integration, predictive coding, and the dynamic interaction between sensory cortices and memory systems. Given my training in Masters, I am also interested in developing tools and looking into how the knowledge in long term memory consolidation and storage can be capitalized to implicate memory enhancement. Besides my background in biology, I have a knack for mathematics and coding, which has led me to adopt a cross-disciplinary holistic approach for the questions that come to my mind.
