Cast
Jamie
Parker Skeen (They/Them)
This is Parker's first one act outside of their previous high school theater, and they are excited to share the story of Jamie! Their previous experience includes Milky White at the Empress Theater in Into The Woods, Garvin at East High School in Footloose, and lead roles in multiple student written and directed plays at East High School. Parker hopes to participate in the Salt Lake City Fringe Festival again in the future. This has been a very positive experience for them, and rehearsals were often the highlight of their week. They welcome you, and hope you enjoy Ants Go Marching!
Lucas
Daydrian Esquivel (He/Him)
Daydrian dedicates this to his aunt and uncle.
Aubrie
Maggie Jonsson (She/Her)
Maggie Jonsson is thrilled to play the role of Aubrie in this production! She was recently seen as Tom Snout in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Narrator in Puffs, and Jesus in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Other credits include a Hot Box Girl in Guys and Dolls, Caithness in Macbeth, and Carlotta in The Little Mermaid Jr. Maggie is grateful to be part of a brand-new story and would like to thank the cast and creative team for making it such a fun and collaborative rehearsal process.
Young Jamie
Kieran Sommers (He/They)
Kieran is very excited to be performing in the Fringe Festival! They're usually the one behind the scenes, being tech crew for various productions through all of high school - their favorite being The Drowsy Chaperone (coincidentally, also directed by Sonny Payne!) Being on the stage for once has been an absolute blast, and they hope you enjoy the show!
Young Lucas
Tori Hernández Madrigal (They/Them)
Tori was just 11 the first time that they fell in love with theatre. After experiencing their older sister performing as Little Red in "Into the Woods", a spark was lit in their heart. As soon as the opportunity arose, they entered the acting world, performing in shows like "The Addams Family", "Mary Poppins", "Newsies", and more. The welcoming world of theatre provided an escape, a chance to forget woes and allow themselves to step into other shoes, to become someone else even if only for a little while.
Though the Broadway lights call their name, their dream lies on being able to perform at any time. They are open to any shows and roles, knowing each one has a story and a lesson that they can learn. They even want to experiment with voice acting, where performance is limited to only your voice.
When not on stage, Tori enjoys being creative. Through singing, dancing, or making art and animations, they are able to stoke the fire in their creator heart and share some beautiful things with the world.
Production Team
Director
Sonny Payne (He/They)
Sonny is excited to participate in the Great Salt Lake Fringe for the first time! He's directed and set designed The Drowsy Chaperone at Murray Highschool, earning him a finalist position as best student direction, and best student scenic design. He's so glad to have put together the perfect group to bring this show to life. You can catch him next assistant directing Little Shop Of Horrors at The Empress!
Assistant Director/Stage Manager
Izic Copier (He/Him)
This is Izic's second time directing a show and is so grateful for the opportunity! He hopes everyone has at least a fraction of fun he had while working on this awesome project! If you'd like to see more of Izic's projects check out @murrayhigh_theater_dept for info on upcoming shows!
Writer
Arthur Thomas (He/Him)
Arthur is so excited to share this project with you! This is his debut play, and his debut at the Fringe, and he hopes this will be the first of many fringe forays. He'd like to dedicate this play to Clara, who this project wouldn't exist without, and to Robyn, who never stopped believing in him for a second. Arthur hopes to go back to his home planet someday.
