I am an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the James Benjamin Department of Accounting in the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. My primary research interests are related to understanding the intersection of law and accounting (e.g., securities litigation, fraud, and misreporting). My research has been published in accounting journals, such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, and Contemporary Accounting Research, finance journals, such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, as well as law and economics journals, such as the Journal of Law and Economics.
I am currently teaching Financial Statement Analysis combined with Data Analytics. The main format of the classroom is to first go over some seminal academic papers and then try to replicate the main findings of the paper. The format forces students to get a better understanding of accounting concepts and statistics, while also introducing them to coding.
