I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, working at the intersection of Bayesian statistics, Econometrics, and Complex Networks. I combine knowledge from computational statistics, especially Markov Chain Monte Carlo, and computer science to code efficient algorithms for the models I develop. My current research focuses on Latent Space network models, with meaningful applications spanning diverse socio-economic domains, including Media Economics and Quantitative Finance. Throughout my academic career, I pursued not only frontier research, but also high-quality teaching and public outreach.
Previously, I worked as a Senior Scientist at Alpen-Adria Universität Klagenfurt.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice under the supervision of Prof. Roberto Casarin.

📢 New Pubblication
I’m happy to share that the paper "Media Bias and Polarization Through the Lens of a Markov Switching Latent Space Network Model" coauthored with Roberto Casarin and Mark Steel has been published in the Annals of Applied Statistics. Here is a link to the paper which is accessible open access.
In this paper, we:
✅ Propose a new measure of media bias that combines network data with text-based indicators;
✅ Introduce Markov-switching dynamics to capture changing polarization regimes in a parsimonious way;
✅ Provide new theoretical results on the statistical properties of latent space network models;
✅ Apply the model to Facebook news activity from four European countries (2015–2016) to study media bias and polarization.
