Anthony J. Taylor, Ph.D Postdoctoral Fellow The University of Texas at Austin - Department of Astronomy
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin Department of Astronomy working with Prof. Steve Finkelstein. My research focuses on early galaxy and black hole formation and evolution using data from JWST as a part of both large collaborations (e.g. CEERS, CAPERS) and smaller focused programs. In these investigations, I specialize in using optical/NIR spectroscopy to detect AGN and determine galaxy/black hole properties. I conduct this research as a part of the University of Texas at Austin Cosmic Frontier Center (CFC) and regularly interface with collaborators across the US and around the globe.
In addition to my research, I also play a key role in teaching and mentoring a group of 10-15 undergraduates as part of a Galaxy Evolution Vertically Integrated Projects program (GeVIP).
I defended my Ph.D thesis "Observations of Strong Emission Line Galaxies from the Epoch of Reionization to Present Day" at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023, where I was advised by Prof. Amy J. Barger.
