Anthia Solaki

While my full name is "Anthia", I usually go by the shorter "Anthi". The pronunciation is, as I've found out, tricky for some (most?) people. This guy does a good job.

I'm currently working as a research scientist in human-machine teaming for the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Prior to that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the RPA Human(e) AI of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). I completed my PhD at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC), under the supervision of Sonja Smets (Amsterdam) and Franz Berto (St Andrews). My project "Logic meets real reasoners" aimed at the logical modelling of actual human reasoning, informed by facts on the bounds of human cognition. You can find the dissertation here. This article of the ILLC blog (written by Iris Proff) provides a nice and accessible summary of the main ideas behind my research.

My research interests have generally centered around logic, epistemology, and psychology of reasoning. I have also been interested in the formal modelling of social network phenomena and the development of applications for intelligent interaction, with an emphasis on their responsible and collaborative aspect.

I was also an organizer of the LIRa (Logic and Interactive Rationality) seminar and a research assistant of the LoC (Logic of Conceivability) project.

My Erdős number is 4.

You can find my researchgate account here.
