An introduction to our various systems that get you out on the courts and playing (I.e. Court Reserve... Whats App...Google Groups.... Rosters) to play pickleball at Anthem
§ An introduction to the policies, procedures and guidelines specific to our community.
§ Determining what your specific instructional needs may be......
§ Learning the rules of the game
§ Learning the basic skills of the game
§ Identifying your pickleball experience
For players new to the game, the Club offers a New Member Orientation (described below). These sessions typically last 2 hours and are organized on an ongoing basis, as demand warrants.

Starting in Spring of 2025
Geared to all levels of play
Where 'service' begins (right hand court), and where the service ends.
Types & rules of the serve including the 'two bounce rule'.
Alternating positions of server when a point is scored.
When is a point scored? How to keep score.
Calls (ball hitting on line) 'NVZ' line on serve.
Kitchen (NVZ - Non Volley zone) area.
Paddle grip.
Forehand, backhand volley and ground strokes.
Rotation of players through several points.

Anthem Ranch Skills and Drills - Beginner/Intermediate Level
These free instruction programs are for Club members and will be taught on Anthem Ranch courts.
Instruction is centered around the most important skills of the game for beginners to intermediate levels players new to the game. Sessions cover important rules of the game and how and why we use different shots.
The one-hour classes are taught by Anthem Ranch players with a
1 to 4 student/instructor ratio.
Information on classes will be sent to members in advance via email and class schedules will be posted on the website. If you are a new player and would be interested in attending, you can typically register online at CourtReserve or contact

This is not a drop in clinic, you are asked to register for the class to ensure student/instructor ratio and help determine the number of courts to reserve.
If you have problems with registration, please contact either Cindy or Nancy.
You are NOT required to attend all sessions.
