Lectorship in the Department of Design & Technology, more specifically in the programme Multimedia and Creative Technologies. Our students start out with a 50-50% base in coding and design, but end up in various roles. I've helped and coached students in all these area's, keeping me up with the practices of the latest trends.

For me, (my) courses belong in a "play" portfolio. They are carefully (iteratively) crafted experiences to foster creativity, enhance problem-solving abilities, and encourage collaboration. So an educational journey can be fun and memorable.
Role:
Courses on physical prototyping, introduction to embedded, interaction & experience design,...
Course and coaching in group projects that have a concrete outcome for a client
Coaching in personal growth, design process and prototyping with Internships & Final work (bachelor thesis)
Active role in Curriculum Design institution wide
Fablab Manager closely tied to the programme (-> here)
"Technology" : required subject in the 1st year in the 1st semester;
focus on the magic they are able to create
introducing them to electronics & reading sensors with a micro-controller (while learning how to code)
iterating over a design process of a physical, interactive device (including using a fablab)
in duo, because + 100 students, but still individual enough to be able to proof personal merit
different iterations of the course
"Interaction Design": course by choice, 2nd bachelor year
installation or physical prototype for of their own choice, inspired by a theme
Individual or small groups
going deeper into how a user experiences/uses the installation
building on the "Technology" course, now expand their technical knowledge to "outputs" (eg. motors, (a lot of) LEDs) and more basic electronics like power management
"Art & Tech Project": required subject 2nd year for everyone not choosing "Web Development", 2nd semester
installation or physical prototype for an external client
group work, preparing them for a bachelor thesis, ample of responsibilities
short design sprints, with inspirational workshops and hard work in a relaxed atmosphere
individual choices for prototype technology, frameworks/software
often involved a live performance (with video mapping or LEDscreen)
"Full Project IV": required subject 2nd year, 2nd semester for everyone
currently teaching this in June 2024 again
60 students present the study programme and the final works of the 3rd year in a festive way
replaced the "Art & Tech Project", now supplemented by all the "Web Development" students
Broader scope: VR/XR, social media campaign, multi-cam livestream, full stack website, exposition,...
