In 2012 we saw the amazing pumpkins my friends had carved. I was blown away, and wanted in on the fun. So in 2013, we went to see them, armed with pumpkins, and learnt how to carve them ourselves. They look amazing when lit, and are great fun to do. I've now been carving for a few years (with the exception of one year due to illness), as you will see from the pictures below.
In the old days I'd trace round a printed sheet of A4 on the pumpkin, then go over the indents with a biro, before commencing cutting. These days my hands and eyes are too old and knackered for that kind of thing, so I print the designs straight on a Stick n Carve sheet. It's a life changer. Massive pumpkins (when I can get them) still require some work though! I have a carving kit, but if the truth be known, I still prefer a nice sharp scalpel blade for really crisp cuts.
