I am passionate about exploring how effective policies and impactful projects can drive positive and sustainable change and reduce inequalities. My journey into this field began with a one-year voluntary service in Tanzania back in 2016/17, which ignited my curiosity to understand the complex issues faced by lower- and middle-income countries.
During my PhD in development economics at the Leibniz University Hannover, I had the privilege to conduct my own research in this field. In my dissertation “Unraveling the Threads: Social Norms, Human Capital, and Inequality in Developing Economies”, I studied how policy changes that shift social norms shape gender and ethnic inequalities in health, education, and labor outcomes across low- and middle-income countries. You can access my dissertation here and find a summary of the key takeaways here.
I successfully completed my PhD in development economics in October 2025. With the skills I acquired in the past years, I am now aiming to make a valuable contribution in the field of development cooperation.
