Anna Schriefl

I am a professor in the philosophy department at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Before coming to Düsseldorf, I was Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin at Humboldt University in Berlin and at the University of Bonn. In 2020, I was an invited guest professor at the interdisciplinary Zentrum für Altertumswissenschaften Zürich (ZAZH). From 2017-2020, I was a Feodor Lynen Research Fellow at the New School in New York City. I mainly work on Ancient Greek Philosophy. My first book, on Plato's criticism of money and wealth, was published in 2013. My second book, an introduction to Ancient Stoicism, came out in 2019. I currently work on Aristotle's concept of matter and on Aristotle's embryology.
