Vigil and Rally: Get ICE Out for Good!

On Friday, January 9, Ann Arbor Indivisible held a candlelight vigil to honor Renee Nicole Good and all the victims of ICE violence. Hundreds of people gathered at Liberty Plaza downtown, remembering Good as a poet, mother, and loving community member. Several local poets shared their own poems as well as Good's prize winning poem, "On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs." 

The next morning, Ann Arbor Indivisible led a march to City Hall, demanding political change to get ICE out of our communities. Hundreds more AAI and community members turned out with signs, banners, ice scrapers, whistles, and even a penguin costume. Local poets read and Washtenaw County Commissioner Yousef Rabhi called for a county-wide ban on ICE activity.

NO TRILLIONAIRES!  NO KINGS!

We picketed the Tesla dealer in Ann Arbor on November 15 to protest Tesla paying a trillion dollars to anyone, especially Elon Musk, the former head of DOGE, a group that vandalized the federal government.

At a time when working people around the world are struggling, this kind of excess exposes the moral bankruptcy of Musk and his billionaire buddies.  We’ve watched as the billionaire class uses its wealth to rewrite the rules, break labor unions, fuel extremist politics, and harm people and communities.  No more!

No Trillionaires!  No Kings!

On November 15, #TeslaTakedown is calling for a global Day of Action to take on Musk’s obscene new pay package and say NO TRILLIONAIRES.

Tesla shareholders just approved a trillion-dollar bonus for Elon Musk. At a time when working people around the world are struggling, this kind of excess exposes the moral bankruptcy of Musk and his billionaire buddies.

Good Trouble Lives On!

Target abandoned its DEI programs,

so we picketed Target for their return.

On July 17th, Ann Arbor Indivisible made good trouble at our Target picket! We chanted, sang, recruited, and asked Target to fulfill the promises it made to the Black community in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.  DEI is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Tricia Paff (AFGE), Yousef Rahbi (Washtenaw County Commissioner), and Carrie Rheingans (State Representative) inspired the crowd, as did the honks and cheers of rush hour drivers.

Parading Against Trump

Ann Arbor Indivisible’s marchers had fun at the Ann Arbor Independence Day Parade!  Crowds applauded our “No Kings Since 1776!” and “Slow, block, defeat Trump” signs and banners.  It was a perfect summer morning for marching, chanting, singing, handing out candy, and spreading the word that we are helping to build a massive, broad-based, non-violent movement to challenge Trump.  Join us using the red "Join AA Indivisible" button above.

We had a great No Kings march in Ann Arbor!

No Kings Day was fantastic in Ann Arbor! We helped to organize this event where over 7,000 people rallied and marched! Over 2,000 No Kings events around the nation said to the would-be king in DC that we are standing up for American democracy, and rejecting his dictator-style $45 million birthday parade and the rest of his corrupt and authoritarian regime. We don't do kings in the USA!
