Anna Straubinger

Postdoctoral Researcher at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research Mannheim

Welcome

My name is Anna Straubinger and I am a transport economist working at the intersection with environmental economics. Using (spatial) equilibrium models, I investigate the long-term effects of changes in the mobility sector induced by new transport services or environmental and transport policies.

Since September 2022, I am a post-doctoral researcher at ZEW’s Research Unit “Environmental and Climate Economics”.

I studied transport economics with a focus on transport policy and spatial economics at TU Dresden. From 2017 to 2022, I was employed as a researcher in the economics and transportation team of the interdisciplinary aviation research institute Bauhaus Luftfahrt e. V. in Taufkirchen. In the meantime, I pursued my doctoral studies as an external PhD candidate at the Department of Spatial Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam under the supervision of Erik Verhoef and Henri de Groot. In my dissertation I used urban equilibrium models to investigate the long-run effects of urban air mobility on households and the environment.

If you want to exchange on (urban) spatial equilibrium models, novel mobility concepts, urban air mobility, sustainable transport or decarbonizing aviation please reach out!
