If you want a direct replacement for the pressure regulation system in older Toyota and Lexus engines, choose Anleecap Radiator Cap; if you need a durable black cap specifically designed to seal the overflow reservoir on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, choose Amoread Black Coolant Reservoir. These two parts solve different problems for different engine bays, and confusing them is a mistake that can lead to overheating or installation failures. I have seen enough mechanics struggle with cross-brand compatibility to know that precision matters more than price when it comes to cooling system components.
• Anleecap Radiator Cap: Its biggest strength is its extensive fitment list covering decades of Toyota and Lexus models, making it a go-to for restoration projects. The trade-off is that it is a standard unit count of one without color customization options beyond its functional design. This pick is for owners of 1989–2016 Toyota Camrys, Corollas, and similar legacy models who need a reliable pressure seal.
• Amoread Black Coolant Reservoir: Its biggest strength is the specific high-temperature resistant plastic construction tailored for the unique shape of Nissan and Infiniti overflow tanks. The trade-off is its strict limitation to Nissan/Infiniti applications, rendering it useless for any other brand. This pick is for drivers of 2003–2020 Nissan Muranos, Rogues, and Infiniti G-series cars looking for a seamless black aesthetic upgrade.
The Anleecap Radiator Cap is built for a very specific demographic: owners of aging Japanese sedans and SUVs who rely on the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part number 1640120353. If your vehicle falls into the 1989–2016 window for Toyota Camry, Corolla, or Tundra, or the 1993–2016 range for the Corolla, this component is engineered to be a direct swap. The design philosophy here is purely functional reliability. It is not about looking flashy under the hood; it is about maintaining the precise pressure required to keep the coolant boiling point elevated during heavy load conditions.
This product shines when you are dealing with tight engine bays where accessibility is a nightmare. Because it is manufactured as a single unit with a focus on being a "direct replacement," it simplifies the repair process. You do not need to modify the mounting points or worry about mismatched threads because the part is defined by its compatibility with a long list of established chassis codes. Whether you own a 1996 4Runner or a 2007 Highlander, the intent of this cap is to restore the factory sealing integrity without requiring complex tooling or professional fitting.

However, you should skip this product if your vehicle is a modern Nissan or a newer Infiniti model. Furthermore, if you are looking for a cosmetic upgrade to match a custom engine bay paint job, this cap does not offer a black finish option like its competitor. It is strictly a performance and maintenance part for Toyota enthusiasts who prioritize longevity over aesthetics.
The Amoread Black Coolant Reservoir cap targets a completely different audience: owners of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles from the 2003 through 2018 eras who want their engine bay to look cohesive. If you drive a Nissan Rogue, Murano, Versa, or an Infiniti G35, G37, or M35, this cap is designed to replace the factory part number 21712-79900. The defining feature here is the material composition. The manufacturer specifies that it is made of plastic suitable for high temperatures, meaning it resists deformation even after years of sitting in the scorching heat of the engine compartment.
What makes this cap particularly appealing for daily drivers is its dual focus on durability and appearance. The black finish is not just a coating; it is integrated into the design to match the typical color of coolant reservoirs found in these Japanese domestic market vehicles. This helps maintain a clean, uniform look under the hood, which is often a priority for car owners who open their hoods frequently. The design ensures that the cap stops coolant evaporation and fluid leakage effectively, addressing the common issue of low coolant levels that leads to engine overheating risks.
You should only consider this item if your vehicle is explicitly listed in the Nissan or Infiniti fitment chart. Trying to use this cap on a Toyota or Honda will not work due to the different thread patterns and pressure ratings. Additionally, while the material is robust against heat, it is a single-unit cap focused on the overflow reservoir rather than the main radiator pressure cap. If your problem lies with the primary radiator seal rather than the expansion tank, this part will not solve your issue. It is a specialized solution for a specific visual and functional niche within the Nissan ecosystem.
• Best for Toyota/Lexus Owners → Anleecap Radiator Cap covers a massive range of models from the late 80s to 2016, offering peace of mind for legacy vehicles.
• Best for Nissan/Infiniti Owners → Amoread Black Coolant Reservoir is the only logical choice for Murano, Rogue, and G35 owners needing a replacement for part 21712-79900.
• Best for High-Temperature Resistance → Both are rated for engine heat, but Amoread explicitly highlights its resistance to long-term deformation in the harsh environment of the Nissan engine bay.
• Best for Direct OEM Replacement → Anleecap focuses heavily on the part number 1640120353, ensuring a drop-in fit for specific Toyota chassis without modification.
• Best for Aesthetic Consistency → Amoread wins here with its dedicated black finish, designed to blend seamlessly with the existing black coolant tanks of Nissan and Infiniti.
• Best for Tight Spaces → Both are compact units, but the Anleecap is specifically noted for easy installation in older, cramped engine bays where access is limited.
• Best for Warranty Support → Anleecap offers a 12-month warranty with a refund policy, providing a safety net for buyers concerned about potential manufacturing defects.
• Best for Daily Driving Durability → Amoread emphasizes suitability for all-weather daily driving, suggesting a formulation that withstands constant thermal cycling.
In my opinion, the decision rests entirely on what car sits in your driveway. If you own a Toyota or Lexus, the Anleecap Radiator Cap is the superior choice because it guarantees the correct pressure rating and thread fitment for those specific engines. However, if you are driving a Nissan or Infiniti, the Amoread Black Coolant Reservoir is the clear winner. I would buy the Amoread cap for my Nissan Murano because the black finish matches the rest of the cooling system perfectly, and the high-temperature plastic gives me confidence that it won't crack under the summer sun. Both products excel in their intended environments, so choosing the right one for your vehicle is the only way to ensure safety and performance. For tight spaces, both designs allow for straightforward installation, but matching the brand to the make is the non-negotiable rule here.
You must verify your specific year against the provided list before ordering.
The product information states it is made of plastic suitable for high temperatures and is not easily deformed or cracked under long-term high engine compartment heat, making it suitable for all-weather daily driving.
Absolutely not. The Anleecap cap is designed for Toyota and Lexus part numbers, while the Nissan Rogue requires the specific fitment for part number 21712-79900, which is the Amoread cap.
Both items are listed as unit counts of one, implying they are standalone caps. The descriptions emphasize "easy to install" and "direct replacement," suggesting no special tools are needed beyond standard hand-tightening capabilities.
