The flexibility of spaces, wellbeing, and productive environment are the core of any successful coworking spaces. The recent trend of increasing internet-based freelancing and entrepreneurship culture has created demands of flexible collaboration. Coworking spaces provide support to individuals to stay motivated, focused, celebrate, and turn challenges into opportunities. The good business plan, website, branding, networking, publicity, social media, accounting, and a flexible booking system makes coworking spaces complete. However, the most fun and interesting part is the design of the spaces. With this vision, our intent is to propose the flexible spaces which can be utilized for any scale and purpose.
The proposed layout is designed to consider the following two major factors. Using an existing structure with minimum alteration and focus on adaptive reuse of spaces. And Secondly, to accommodate the maximum number of people with layers of privacy and create the opportunity for effective interaction.
The entrance reception area being the public space is deliberately made bright and vibrant to attract the attention of the guests and passerby. It opens into the Biergarten/Cafe area full of lights and bold color seating to make the space more playful, interactive and alive mimicking the outdoor lush green informal seating for the creative individuals. The white washout brick arch is porch to the semiformal work culture with a variety of collaborative seatings including the step-up lounge. These combined spaces can be used for formal/informal social happy hours and gallery events.
Later, the layout concludes with more intimate and private individual and collaborative pods. These quiet zone spaces are to get some serious work done with the clients or peers. The conference space can be isolated by the rest of the layout with the existing exterior doorway to rented out for private events like presentations, workshop, or mat exercises. The present combined number of variety seating is 45+ with supporting two unisex ADA toilets and storage along with small kitchen/cafeteria.
