If you want a compact, all-day companion for hiking with smart noise cancellation and a unique phone stand, choose Anker Soundcore P30i; if you need deep immersion, extended battery life for long trips, and Hi-Res audio fidelity, choose FOFUN NC95.
• Anker Soundcore P30i: Offers a clever 2-in-1 case that doubles as a phone stand and delivers up to 45 hours of total playtime, though it relies on in-ear fit which some may find less secure during vigorous movement.
• FOFUN NC95: Provides massive 120-hour battery life and over-ear comfort with Hi-Res Audio certification, but its bulkier design makes it less convenient for tight spaces or quick transitions.
• Who is this for: The P30i fits the hiker who values portability and hands-free video viewing, while the NC95 suits the traveler or commuter prioritizing maximum silence and endurance.
The Anker Soundcore P30i is engineered for the person who lives their life on the move and needs a headset that adapts to their environment without adding bulk. Its standout feature is the dual-purpose charging case, which transforms into a phone stand. This isn't just a gimmick; it solves a real problem for travelers and hikers who want to watch a show or follow a trail map while keeping their hands free. You can simply open the back panel, prop your phone up, and start watching, making those long bus rides or waiting periods much more bearable.
For the active user, the adaptive noise cancelling system is a critical tool. It detects external sounds and automatically adjusts the cancellation level up to 42dB. This means you get deep silence when needed, but the system also shifts to Transparency Mode instantly if you need to hear traffic or fellow hikers. The 10mm drivers with BassUp technology ensure that even in a noisy outdoor setting, the bass remains punchy and the audio remains clear. With Bluetooth 5.4, pairing is seamless, and the connection stays stable even when you are moving through varied terrain.

Battery life is where this model truly shines for daily commuters. You get 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, or 6 hours if you keep the active noise cancelling engaged. The case extends this to a massive 45 hours total. A quick 10-minute charge gives you 2 hours of use, which is perfect for those mornings when you forgot to plug in overnight. However, because these are in-ear buds with an IP54 rating, they are built to handle sweat and light rain, but they lack the physical isolation of a full cup around the ear. If you prioritize a snug fit and don't mind managing small ear tips, this is a powerhouse. But if you prefer a "set it and forget it" over-ear feel, the in-ear design might not be your first choice.
The FOFUN NC95 is designed for the listener who demands high-fidelity sound and refuses to compromise on battery longevity. As an over-ear headphone, it creates a physical seal that, combined with hybrid active noise cancellation, blocks out the world more aggressively than most in-ear alternatives. The 40mm dynamic drivers support Hi-Res Audio, meaning you will hear details in your music that smaller drivers often miss. Whether you are listening to complex orchestral pieces or detailed podcasts, the frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 KHz ensures a rich, immersive experience that feels like you are in the studio.
For the long-haul hiker or the frequent flyer, the battery specifications are unmatched. You can enjoy up to 65 hours of playback on a single charge, and the total package offers a staggering 120 hours of playtime. This eliminates the anxiety of running out of power mid-journey. The headphones also feature Bluetooth 6.0 with low latency (50 milliseconds), which is crucial for anyone who uses these for gaming or watching videos on the go. The control scheme includes a dedicated knob and push buttons, allowing you to adjust volume and manage calls without fumbling with touch sensors that can be finicky in cold weather or with gloves.
Comfort is another major pillar for this device. The faux leather ear cups and plastic construction are designed for a "Comfort Fit," which is essential for wearing over long periods. The inclusion of a 3.5mm jack provides a wired fallback option if you ever run into connectivity issues or want to save battery. The transparency mode allows you to stay aware of your surroundings without removing the headphones, a vital safety feature for outdoor activities. However, the over-ear form factor means they are larger and heavier than the P30i. They come with a PU bag for storage, but they do not have the same pocket-friendly footprint as the earbuds. If you value audio quality and endurance over sheer portability, this is the superior choice.
• Best for battery life → FOFUN NC95, offering 65 hours per charge and 120 hours total compared to the P30i's 10 hours and 45 hours.
• Best for portability → Anker Soundcore P30i, with its compact in-ear design and integrated phone stand.
• Best for audio fidelity → FOFUN NC95, thanks to 40mm drivers and Hi-Res Audio support versus the P30i's 10mm drivers.
• Best for active hiking → Anker Soundcore P30i, due to its lighter weight, IP54 sweat resistance, and ease of switching to transparency mode quickly.
• Best for low-latency gaming → FOFUN NC95, featuring Bluetooth 6.0 and a specific 50ms latency rating.
• Best for hands-free viewing → Anker Soundcore P30i, the only one with a built-in phone stand in the charging case.
• Best for call clarity → Both offer strong solutions, but the P30i uses AI-enhanced 4-mic technology specifically optimized for voice precision, while the NC95 relies on a 4-mic array for general noise reduction.
• Best for cold weather use → FOFUN NC95, as the physical ear cups provide warmth and the button controls work better with gloves than touch surfaces.
After weighing the specifications and considering the unique requirements of outdoor enthusiasts, I would buy the Anker Soundcore P30i if my primary goal was hiking. The combination of the phone stand, the lightweight design, and the adaptive noise cancelling makes it the ideal companion for the trail. While the FOFUN NC95 wins on raw battery and sound depth, the practical utility of the P30i's case and its ability to switch seamlessly between silence and awareness makes it the better tool for an active lifestyle. However, if I were taking a long train ride or sitting in a quiet home office for hours, I would switch to the FOFUN NC95 for its superior comfort and Hi-Res audio capabilities. Ultimately, for the best hi-res wireless headset for hiking, the P30i's versatility edges out the competition, but for the best bluetooth gaming headset for hiking, the FOFUN NC95 offers the stability and low latency required.
Both models have some level of protection, but the Anker Soundcore P30i carries an IP54 rating, making it specifically resistant to sweat and light rain splashes, whereas the FOFUN NC95 focuses more on general durability and does not highlight an IP rating for water resistance.
With the FOFUN NC95 offering up to 120 hours of total playtime, you likely won't need to charge them for weeks, whereas the Anker Soundcore P30i requires recharging every few days depending on usage, though it charges very quickly.
The FOFUN NC95 uses Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation with 40mm drivers that physically block more sound, while the Anker Soundcore P30i uses Smart Adaptive ANC up to 42dB, which is effective but relies on the in-ear seal.
Yes, both support wireless connectivity, but the FOFUN NC95 specifies a low latency of 50ms and Bluetooth 6.0, which is generally better for syncing audio with video games than standard Bluetooth connections.
