If you want a secure, sweat-proof audio device for active movement and outdoor exploration like hiking, choose Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2; if you need a soft, light-blocking accessory to block out the world while sleeping or napping, choose LC-dolida 5.4.
These two products sit at opposite ends of the wearable audio spectrum. One is built to keep your ears open to the environment while you move, and the other is designed specifically to close your eyes and shut out the light. Understanding this fundamental difference in intent is the only way to make a decision that won't leave you frustrated after a single use. I have analyzed the specifications and design features of both to help you decide which tool fits your specific lifestyle needs, whether that means tackling a mountain trail or getting through a restless night.
• Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2: Its biggest strength is the versatile, adjustable fit that stays secure during movement with an open-ear design; its trade-off is that it offers no passive noise isolation since the ear canal remains open. This pick is for hikers, runners, and commuters who need situational awareness.
• LC-dolida 5.4: Its biggest strength is the premium ice silk construction and complete blackout capability that creates a sleep sanctuary; its trade-off is that it is a stationary device not intended for physical activity or running. This pick is for side sleepers, travelers needing naps, and anyone seeking total darkness.
The Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 is engineered for people who refuse to compromise on safety or comfort while being active. The core of its design philosophy is the "open-ear" concept, which uses a non-invasive, double-curved shape that rests outside the ear canal rather than inside it. This design choice is critical for anyone engaging in activities where hearing your surroundings is mandatory. You are not isolating yourself from traffic, wind, or fellow hikers; instead, you are enjoying your music while remaining fully aware of the environment.
What makes this device particularly compelling for the outdoors is the focus on adjustability. The product data indicates four levels of adjustment for the ear hooks, a feature aimed at accommodating over 99% of ear shapes. For someone whose head moves constantly—whether they are climbing a rocky path or navigating a busy city street—this ability to fine-tune the fit ensures the unit does not slip or bounce. It also includes wireless charging capabilities, meaning you can place the case on a pad without fumbling with cables, a small convenience that adds up when you are on the go.
However, this form factor comes with a specific limitation. Because the drivers are angled toward the ear but do not seal the canal, there is no active noise cancellation and no passive blocking of sound. If your goal is to drown out a noisy train or a crying baby, this is not the right tool. But for the person looking for on ear headphones for hiking who wants to hear their breathing, the birds, or a trail marker while listening to a podcast, the trade-off is entirely worth it. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.4 and support for LDAC suggests a high-fidelity experience that handles rich bass and clear treble, ensuring your soundtrack sounds good even at higher volumes needed to overcome ambient wind noise.

In stark contrast, the LC-dolida 5.4 is not an audio device for the active user; it is a sleep aid disguised as headphones. Its entire existence revolves around the concept of "unmatched softness." The mask is crafted from ice silk with a natural cotton interior, creating a dual-texture feel that is explicitly designed for sensitive skin and long-term wear. If you are someone who tosses and turns or sleeps on your side, the pressure-free fit is the primary selling point. The design utilizes a semi-wraparound shape with a deeper V-shape at the nose to contour perfectly to facial features, ensuring the material doesn't press against your eyes or hair.
The functionality here is about environmental control. The mask provides complete blackout, utilizing a unique triangle wing and larger size to create a dark environment from all angles. This is a functional necessity for many who struggle to fall asleep due to light pollution, whether they are in a hotel room, an office nap pod, or a bright bedroom. The integrated Bluetooth 5.4 chip allows for wireless playback directly from the mask's thin, 32mm stereo speakers, eliminating the need for bulky pillows or uncomfortable earbuds that dig into your cheek.
This product is ideal for the person who prioritizes rest over performance. The package includes two noise-canceling earplugs, which serves as a backup option if you need absolute silence beyond what the fabric provides. With a battery life of up to 15 hours, it can easily handle a full night's sleep plus a few days of napping before requiring a recharge or replacement of the AA batteries. It is a luxury item for relaxation, not a rugged piece of gear for the wild. If you are looking for clip on earbuds for hiking, this will not work; it is strictly for lying down, sitting still, or traveling in a vehicle where you can remain stationary.
• Best for Situational Awareness → Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2: The open-ear design lets you hear the world, essential for any outdoor activity where safety matters.
• Best for Light Blocking → LC-dolida 5.4: The ergonomic, deep V-shape and ice silk material provide a true blackout experience that standard earbuds cannot match.
• Best for Active Movement → Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2: With IP55 water resistance and adjustable hooks, it withstands sweat and motion without slipping.
• Best for Side Sleepers → LC-dolida 5.4: The ultra-thin, pressure-free profile prevents the discomfort of pressing a hard earbud against a pillow.
• Best Battery Life for Travel → LC-dolida 5.4: The 15-hour continuous playtime is sufficient for multiple long-haul flights or overnight trips without recharging.
• Best Audio Fidelity for Music → Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2: Features 20 mm × 11.5 mm racetrack drivers and BassTurbo acoustics for a more dynamic, concert-like sound.
• Best for Translation Needs → Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2: Includes real-time AI translation for 100 languages, making it useful for travel beyond just exercise.
• Best for Comfort During Long Naps → LC-dolida 5.4: The breathable cotton interior and cool ice silk exterior prevent overheating and irritation during extended wear.
I would buy the Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 for my own use because it aligns with how I actually spend my time. While the LC-dolida 5.4 is a clever invention for those struggling with insomnia or needing perfect darkness, it is too specialized for general daily use. The Anker model bridges the gap between technology and nature. It is the superior choice for best headphones for hiking because it keeps me safe, comfortable, and connected to my music without sealing off my hearing. The adjustable fit and weather resistance give me confidence to take it anywhere, whereas the sleep mask is destined to stay in my luggage or by my bedside. If you value versatility and outdoor capability, the Anker is the clear winner.
Only the Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 is suitable for running or hiking due to its secure, adjustable fit and IP55 water resistance rating. The LC-dolida 5.4 is a sleep mask and is not designed for physical activity.
The Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 features four levels of adjustable ear hooks tailored to over 99% of ear shapes, providing a secure fit that should remain stable during movement.
The LC-dolida 5.4 requires two AA batteries (included) to power the Bluetooth speakers, unlike the Anker model which charges via a USB-C port and supports wireless charging for its case.
The Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 offers richer audio with deeper bass and Hi-Res support via LDAC and 20 mm × 11.5 mm racetrack drivers, making it the better choice for serious music listening compared to the thin speakers in the sleep mask.
