Leicester cubesat project - PLUME

In 2007 Prof George Fraser invited me to be a mentor for the up- and down-links of the Cubesat proposed to be built by Leicester University students.

This prompted me to go to my archives and select text and programmes that I had written in the last few years for decoding satellite telemetry.

Full up-to-date details are on the Leicester cubseat wiki but here is a summary of that previous work.

The first satellite I commented on was LUSAT, the Argentinian (LU) satellite that sends out a telemetry beacon in Morse Code.

Here is the text explaining it

and here is my simulator (runs on Pentium 1 or 2, sorry-see notes).

 I also downloaded and analysed the housekeeping data from STARSHINE3  and QUAKESAT.

Here is the text explaining it;

here is a simple program I wrote in BASIC;

here is the compiled exe version;

and some sample data QUAKES.txt.

  John Heath G7HIA is my fellow mentor and we are working on all aspects of the comms design.

Sadly, my friend John has passed away.

A comet flew through the sky of  Earth the night he died...
