About Andrew Partington
Andrew is a Director of Glass Box Health Economics, a specialised consultancy providing economic evidence for developing and improving health services.
As an Honorary Fellow with the Flinders Health & Medical Research Institute at Flinders University and the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) at Macquarie University, Andrew helps to lead a programme of research that embeds health services research and economic evidence into healthcare planning and delivery.
He is also a Visiting Fellow with the École des hautes études en santé publique (EHESP, French School of Public Health), one of the three official French schools of public service. It specializes in training French and foreign health sector executives and senior managers and conducting public health and health services research.
In addition to his research and consultancy roles, he is also an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care; a mentor at the Macquarie University Innovation Incubator; and on the Professional Services Panel for the Government of South Australia and the Health Economic Service Panel for the Commonwealth Department of Health.
His previous roles have been in strategic evaluation, planning and change management within the UK National Health Service (NHS) and South Australian state government. He has also acted as an expert evaluator for the Australian Government Pharmaceutical Benefits and Medical Services Advisory Committees (PBAC, MSAC), and previously sat on the Population and Health Services Research Ethics Committee (PHSREC) that oversees data-linkage projects across NSW Health.
A graduate of the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor in Commerce and Health Sciences (Hons), Andrew is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (FCHSM). He is currently completing his PhD in economic evaluation under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Karnon and Prof. Hossein Afzali at Flinders University.
