Andrew J. Soto Levins

About me

I was born in Riverside, California and grew up in Houston, Texas. I received my B.S in Mathematics from the University of Texas Arlington and am currently a fifth year PhD student at the University of Nebraska Lincoln working under the supervision of Mark Walker.

My research interests are in the intersection of commutative algebra and homological algebra, in particular the vanishing of Ext and Tor  over Noetherian local rings, and Bass numbers and injective dimension of local cohomology.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and going on walks. My coolest experience as a graduate student was attending Pan American School in Commutative Algebra in summer 2022 in Guanajuato, Mexico.
