I hold a BA in Economics from the University of Concepcion and an MA in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Since 2005, I have been a faculty member in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Bio-Bio, Concepcion, Chile. Additionally, I served as Head of the Department from September 2016 to September 2018.
My main research interests include Applied macroeconomics, Political economics (voting behavior and public opinion), and Development economics.
Furthermore, I have worked as an economic consultant for public and private institutions, including regional and local governments in Chile, Endesa (ENEL Group), CORFO, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Recently, I was a member of the Academic Commitee at Observatorio Laboral Biobio, a project funded by the National Office of Employment and Training (SENCE) and Banotic.
Since 2024, I have served as the Program Director of the Master's in Applied Economics (MagEA-UBB) at Universidad del Bío-Bío.
