Andre Coelho Vianna, Ph.D.

Welcome to my web page!

My name is Andre Coelho Vianna. I am a Federal Auditor of Finance and Control from the Brazilian National Treasury since 2007. My current workplace is the Ministry of the Economy in Santa Catarina, located in Florianópolis, SC, Brazil. My professional background in the public sector includes assignments as financial analyst at the Brazilian Treasury’s public debt operations department and as coordinator of the economic advisory department at the Finance Minister's Office. Previously, I worked in the private sector as general manager and financial analyst for two large companies in Brazil.

I completed my PhD in Finance at The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley in 2018. I earned my Master's degree in Public Economics at the University of Brasília (UnB) in 2014 and Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) in 2000. I am interested in the fields of International Finance, Macroeconomics, Stock Markets, and Development Economics. My current research focuses on understanding the economic factors behind democracy in emerging markets, as well as unfolding the natural resources curse in Latin America.
