Looking for PhD positions in signal processing

Hello everyone and welcome to my website. My name is Andreas Angelou and I was born in 1999 in Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2017 - 2023) where I obtained my diploma (integrated master's degree) in ECE. In 2022, I worked for 8 months as a data science intern at one of the top companies in the automotive industry, Volvo Cars, Gothenburg, Sweden.

For my thesis project, I delved into theoretical/mathematical signal processing by investigating and modifying a popular signal decomposition method, the Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD). I modified the mathematical formulation of VMD and developed a more adaptive and noise-resilient signal decomposition method, called Dynamic Bandwidth Variational Mode Decomposition (DB-VMD). I presented this work to the 2024 IEEE International Conference of Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP), Seoul, South Korea.

My research interests are in generic signal processing methods and mathematical tools development for engineering applications. My goal is to develop a set of methods and tools that can be used in various applications, such as communications, biomedical engineering, audio engineering, and data science, to name a few. Currently, I am looking for PhD positions in these areas.
