After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Lee spent several years as a freelance percussionist in London before teaching discovered him and he hasn’t looked back since. Lee has taught instrumental, classroom and ensemble music for over 30 years and has developed a passion for conducting, ultimately leading to his Master of Music from UWA.
As the current president of the Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association (WA), Lee believes that as educators and musicians, we never stop learning. Lee has lived in Perth Western Australia for the last 14 years where he directs ensembles and teaches percussion as a senior teacher for the Instrumental Music Schools Service, delivers broadening units at the University of Western Australia and develops and presents children’s concerts for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
