Roger will draw on his decades of experience as an orchestral player, and his insights as a conductor and conducting teacher, to explore issues such as the difference between "beating" time and "leading" time, how we can help the musicians learn to interpret the conductor’s gestures, why all orchestras play behind the beat, and how to create an effective chain of leadership within the ensemble.
