Don’t just tell me – show me! A helpful demonstration of tried-and-true techniques used in the rehearsal room to improve tone, rhythm, balance and intonation in the concert band. Look at ways of having your ensemble be more musical, creative and explore alternative rehearsal strategies.
Shannon Ebeling is a knowledgeable and passionate presenter who shares his enthusiasm for quality music education. He graduated with the Masters of Music (Performance) from the University of Melbourne after completing the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Teaching degrees with first class honours.
Shannon is a saxophone specialist, VCE examiner, woodwind doubler as well as an experienced consultant for school music programs. Shannon has taught musicians for over 20 years from Year 2 to the Post-Graduate level at University, Government, Catholic and Independent schools. He is the musical director of the Geelong Concert Band, Head of Woodwind at The Geelong College and can be found most weekends jogging along the Barwon River.
Geelong Concert Band has been cultural institution of the Geelong region for over 30 years. Geelong Concert Band now boasts 150 members across three ensembles. Performing a variety of musical styles and catering to a wide range of abilities, Geelong Concert Band is proud to be part of the musical fabric of the Geelong Region!
