Christin Shmanka
Christin's mother was very involved in the arts and she began to dabble in drawing and painting when she was very young. Christin took painting thought high school and into university, exploring various painting mediums, including acrylic and many pen and ink drawings. She happened upon watercolour when admiring the works of others, and pursued "playing" with various techniques in realistic and abstract pieces. She loves to include ink as part of the design.
While watercolour is a somewhat unforgiving medium, it also allows great exploration: of textures when combined with salt, plastic wrap, and the like, and of colours blending and reacting to each other in lovely ways. It is not always predictable and thus fosters creativity to make a thing of beauty following the shapes suggested by the initial pass.

Stephanie Briley
~~ Stephanie Briley Brand ~~ Watercolour Artist ~~
For the past ten years, watercolour has become Stephanie's serendipitous and addictive pastime. She is attracted to the softness and transparency of the paint.
The energy of this medium is magical, as it often does the work itself. It is taking her years to understand the mystery of watercolour and the many reactions and techniques.
Stephanie grew up in the Scarborough Bluffs, attending Fairmount P.S. and R. H. King Collegiate. After raising her family and retiring from teaching, she returned to this special neighbourhood and continue to enjoy the challenge of watercolour, taking a variety of local art classes, and painting her travels and gardens.

After working 12 hr, 6 day work weeks for 42 years I finally have an opportunity to pursue some of my real passions: Photography, Pyrography and Wood Carving. My works include • ‘Wood Spirit’ carvings that are hung via jute twine (with hand whipped tails) – perfect for gardens, cottages and eclectic homes. • Pyrography [wood burning] hanging art pieces and canoe paddles with subject matter from landscape to signs. • Local photography. I love a good picture but I also love creative interpretations of the same. My photos convey feeling as much as subject matter. Most pictures are 8x10 and all are framed.

Rose Skaricic - Toronto Jewelry Online
Website: Toronto Jewelry Online
Rose Skaricic loves all kinds of jewelry- big, bold statement pieces to fine, elegant adornments to layered, bohemian looks that enhance outfits and project strong impressions to the people she meets.
Rose found acquiring quality pieces to be expensive, so she took courses to learn how to make her own jewelry.
Rose and her pieces were so popular at my workplace that co-workers started asking her to make unique pieces for them. This led to expanding her vision to include creating pieces for high priced charity fundraisers, schools and religious organizations, and even bridal parties.
Who knew that her “hobby” would last 24 years?
And she is loving every single day!!!

Tiffany Barnett - Birchcliff Knots
Instagram: @birchcliffknots
Website: http//www.mandelisart.com
Tiffany Barnett is a single mom who works a day job in healthcare and needed an outlet for some self care and “me time” during the pandemic.
Tiffany has always been a maker and enjoyed the process of creating with her hands, but she found a new meditative groove when making macrame and mixed fibre wall hangings and found a new love with fibre art in general.
Although the intention started as just making art for herself, family and friends, Tiffany quickly found herself branching out and began doing custom pieces for others, and Birchcliff Knots was born last summer.
Tiffany is very excited to participate in an Artist Lives Here, and looks forward to meeting everyone and showcasing her “hobby”.

The above statement describes both Catherine's love and requirement to have art in her life. Without it, life turns gray. Discovering her love for painting has been a great gift in her life. It has seen her through some dark times….. the power of art !

Emilia Rashid - Cabezas
Emilia Rashid- Cabezas is an 11 years old artist. She is passionate about traditional drawing, sketching and painting. She uses a variety of media in her work (pencil, markers, paints, coloured pencils).
I'd describe her art style as being a mix: She uses different styles like abstract and composite pieces by using colour themes and aesthetics and mixing them together.
She also does some whimsical imaginative pieces, pop art and fun portraits in the Anime drawing style.
Emilia also loves to draw realistic faces, and has been doing hyper realistic portraits and still life using mixed media.
