"The magmatic architecture of the Kermadec-Tonga arc submarine volcanoes"
I am currently investigating submarine volcanism along the Kermadec–Tonga Arc, one of the most volcanically active submarine arcs on Earth.
Using new satellite altimetry from the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, I derive gravity anomalies and invert them to build 3D density models that image magmatic and hydrothermal systems beneath dozens of submarine volcanoes. My work focuses on constraining magma storage volumes and depths, identifying whether systems are transcrustal or composed of discrete reservoirs, and quantifying how fluid content influences these structures. I am also conducting detailed joint inversions at several active caldera systems to characterize their infill and evaluate the interplay between hydrothermal circulation and magmatism.
