Ernst Cassirer on a fact in science: remarks on the reception of the Logicist thesis in Substanzbegriff und Funktionsbegriff

We aim to expose the reception of the Logicist thesis in Ernst Cassirer’s early epistemology, with particular emphasis in his 1910 essay, Substanzbegriff und Funktionsbegriff. In order to fulfill such task, we will proceed as follows: first we shall make some remarks on the origins of the logicist thesis, some adepts of it and the reception made by Cassirer in the beginning of 20^th century. From this, we shall past to the presuppositions that Cassirer had inside the School of Marburg. In a third part, we shall expose the difference between Cassirer and other philosophers on their position concerning the logicist thesis. Finally, we’ll conclude debating with some contemporary scholars.
