Aron Gurwitsch and the Margin of Consciousness
Brenda Soares
The objective of this talk is to present the theory of the Field of Consciousness proposed by the phenomenologist Aron Gurwitsch, highlighting the role of marginal consciousness in this dynamic that also counts with theme and thematic field. It will be shown that there is an evolution of marginal consciousness between its first appearance in 1929 and its most developed form in 1964, which begins to distinguish as parts of its structure: the body, the inner time, and the perceptual world.
