Amarachukwu Stephanie Alex-Okenwa(Amyy, short of Amarachukwu) is a dynamic individual with an unwavering passion for the ever-evolving landscape of technology and design. Originally from Nigeria and currently based in Liverpool, England, she combines her Software Engineering background with a recent Master’s degree in Project Management. Her journey is a fusion of diverse experiences and a deep commitment to impactful work in tech.
She have mastered HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while exploring the realm of modern libraries and frameworks. Her journey into UI/UX Design has been a delightful exploration, fuelled by Adobe XD and Figma proficiency.
Bringing concepts to life and crafting modern, responsive websites has been her forte. Her fascination with web applications has further deepened her love for creating captivating user experiences.
Volunteering with tech organizations, She have dived into projects that marry her expertise with a flair for collaboration. Open-source projects have become a personal passion, and she is an avid speaker on Navigating the tech space as a newbie, GitHub, and contributing to open source.
She established the Techies Haven community for tech enthusiasts, learners, and seasoned professionals alike. With the vision of providing a space to hone skills, share knowledge, collaborate on projects, offer mentorship, and foster a supportive environment, Techies Haven has become a thriving hub for all things tech-related.
Additionally, She have had the privilege of working with She Code Africa as a programs Intern and as head of partnership and project at Spark Africa. As an Open Source advocate, she has been actively exploring the DevRel space and recently completed an apprenticeship with the DXMentorship program.
Armed with a love for project management, She's adept at weaving her skills into ensuring seamless project execution and meaningful outcomes.
Speaking Engagement
I had the privilege of being the speaker for the Women Tech Makers Abuja Speaker Series of the Month.
The session was a platform for me to share insights into the world of GitHub. I spoke on the concept of open-source projects, and shined light on the essence of contributing to these projects, the fundamental steps to making contributions, the diverse ways one can get involved, and the array of benefits that await those who take part and contribute to open source projects.
