Under the influence of a new antidepressant drug, Connie and Tristan's minds and hearts are racing.
But is this newfound romance just the effect of a new drug, or is there something real to be pursued here? And how do the two clinicians handling the trial stop it from throwing everything they know off its course?
The Effect appeared on the summer line-up as the week 9 weekend show, with performances from April 26th-28th, 2024.
For this production, I took on the role of fight choreographer and was responsible for safely coordinating any fight/violent sequences within the play. For this particular show, I coordinated three separate sequences of fight. These sequences included of actor's slapping one another, grabbing each other by the wrists and from behind, uppercuts, shoving and falling backwards. Since this production was staged in traverse, it took additional coordination to ensure that the fight looked realistic regardless of where audience were sitting. I was present throughout production week to help in adapting what was done in rehearsal room to utilizing the full space. I had a lot of fun working with the cast and exec team in the rehearsal room to build up comfortability with each other, which with the play's content aided well in approaching the text (not just in moments of fight but as a whole).
