Carol Watson has a problem. Her husband Derek had his life saved by a goblin ten years ago, and in exchange handed over custody of their first born child. Now, the goblin has come to collect.
The Watsons face a dilemma - hand over their ten year old son Jason, or risk the consequences of breaking a magical bargain.
Hiring an inexperienced but passionate lawyer, they arrive at the goblin's bog to strike a deal - though what they find there comes as a surprise to them all...
Goblin appeared on the DramaSoc Summer 2026 line-up as the week 10 ODN performing on April 27th.
Although producer in title, the role more so aligned itself to company stage managing. For this role, I was responsible for the organization of auditions and rehearsals, filling in risk assessments/performance forms, working alongside prod, and managing the budget.
I worked to get a 45 minute show rehearsed within a 2 week period, with the 9 hr limit set by Drama Society. Within the 18 hours we had to rehearse before getting into the space, we were able to fit in a read-through, character workshop, rehearsals of all scenes and a full run within this time. Alongside this, I helped navigate a production team of seven people. The show relied a lot on actors hitting comedic bits, and fostered a nice environment for improv, because of this, and little bits being added as we were rehearsing, communication between different teams.
Sadly, I was unable to be present on the day of our show, however I was key in setting up the day for success and was present throughout the day on phone if issues arose. I communicated with the ODN rep and delegated responsibilities before I left, which helped the events of the day.
I genuinely loved every single moment of this production and found myself constantly laughing at everything during the process (in a good way). I’m very proud of this show and the work everyone put into it - honored to say that this was my last ODN and last time exec-ing for DramaSoc!!!
