A Little about myself

My growing up years was spent in Iowa on a farm. I attended elementary and Junior high school in Ute and Charter Oak, Iowa. I graduate from Charter Oak-Ute High School. My favorite things to do in HS was jazz, marching, pep and concert bands. I also enjoyed concert choir, chamber choir and small groups. I was part of the yearbook team. Some of my favorite memories are attending all sports games and playing in the pep band.

I attended St. Paul Junior College in Concordia, MO where I graduated with an AA degree in music and education. I went on to Concordia Teacher's College (Concordia University) a 4 year college in Seward, NE. I graduated with a BS degree in PeK-8 education with concentrations in early childhood, music and religion.

I have taught preschool in Texas, Iowa, and Minnesota. In Yorktown and Lowden, IA I had the joy of experiencing teaching in 2 room schools. Council Bluffs, IA I had the privilege of teaching K-5 music. Most recently I have taught at Tiospa Zina Tribal School in Sisseton, SD. While at Tiospa Zina I taught in the HS Alternative Learning Center, 1st grade and middle school math.

I live in Alcester and I am married to Paul, who recently retired. We have 2 grown children. Aaron lives in Fargo, ND and works as an administrative IT specialist with the Sisseton Wahpaton Sioux Tribe. Christina lives in Fairmont, MN and teaches 1st grade at St. Paul Lutheran School.
