If you want a reliable, wide-angle view to eliminate blind spots while navigating tight boat docks or crowded marinas, choose Ampper 2; if you need a durable, leak-proof sewer connection that adapts to any campground inlet and lets you see exactly when your tanks are empty, choose Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV.
These two products serve completely different masters in the outdoor lifestyle world, yet both are essential for owners who refuse to compromise on safety or convenience. The Ampper 2 mirrors provide a critical visual upgrade for vehicle operation, specifically designed to give drivers a clear line of sight where standard mirrors fail. Conversely, the Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV is an indispensable tool for RVers who need to handle waste management with precision and zero mess. While one protects you from collisions and the other protects your campsite from odors, both represent high-quality solutions built for specific, demanding environments. Understanding which tool fits your immediate needs is the only way to make the right purchase without wasting money on gear you won't use.
• Ampper 2: Offers a massive advantage in visibility with its ultra-thin, frameless convex design and includes four pieces for comprehensive coverage; however, it requires careful surface preparation and firm pressure during installation to ensure the adhesive holds securely.
• Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV: Delivers unmatched versatility with a 4-in-1 adapter that fits multiple dump station sizes and features a transparent elbow to eliminate guessing during tank drainage; the trade-off is its larger physical footprint compared to smaller, simpler fittings.
• Pick Ampper 2 if you drive an RV, truck, or boat and need to see vehicles approaching from behind or beside you in real-time.
• Pick Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV if you own a recreational vehicle and want a foolproof, odor-free connection that works at any dump station in North America.
The Ampper 2 system is engineered for anyone who feels their factory-installed side mirrors leave dangerous gaps in their field of vision. This is particularly true for boat owners who must maneuver large vessels through narrow slips or navigate busy waterways where a single missed vessel can cause significant damage. The product features a 2-inch HD glass curved male face with a frameless, ultrathin slim design that sits flush against existing mirrors without adding bulk. This low-profile approach ensures that the mirror does not interfere with wipers or get snagged on overhead structures, a common issue with bulky aftermarket add-ons.
What makes this product stand out is the sheer utility of the package. You receive four distinct units, allowing you to cover your left rearview, right rearview, and inside rear-view mirrors simultaneously, with one spare ready for replacement or repositioning. Each unit comes equipped with a tiny adjustable swivel mounting bracket that allows for 360-degree adjustment. This flexibility means you can dial in the exact angle needed to catch a car merging into your lane or a boat pulling up alongside your stern. The glass itself is waterproof and rust-resistant, ensuring that exposure to saltwater spray or heavy rain does not degrade the clarity over time.

This kit is ideal for truck, SUV, van, and RV drivers who frequently change lanes or operate in congested areas. It is also a perfect fit for marine enthusiasts who need extra eyes on the water. However, potential buyers should note that the installation relies heavily on pressure-sensitive tape. The manufacturer explicitly advises cleaning the original mirror surface with alcohol or similar cleaning products before application and pressing down hard when attaching the mirror to the black pivot base. If this step is skipped, the mirror may not stick firmly enough to withstand the vibration of travel. Therefore, this product is best suited for those willing to take a few minutes to prep the surface correctly rather than those looking for a quick, no-fuss peel-and-stick solution.
The Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV is built for the practical demands of full-time RV living and weekend camping trips where reliability is non-negotiable. Its primary function is to create a secure, odor-tight link between your camper's sewer hose and the dump station inlet. The standout feature here is the innovative 4-in-1 adapter, which is designed to accommodate four different dump station inlet sizes: 4" NPT, 3 ½" NPT, 3" NPT, and 3" slip fittings. This versatility is crucial because campground infrastructure varies wildly, and having to carry multiple adapters or fumbling to find a fitting that matches is a hassle most RVers would happily avoid.
The transparency of the elbow is another game-changer for waste management. The clear 90-degree hose elbow allows you to visually monitor the flow of waste from both your black and grey tanks. Instead of waiting blindly or making repeated trips to check the tank levels, you can simply look at the elbow and know the moment the water runs clear that the dumping process is complete. This eliminates guesswork and prevents overfilling or leaving waste behind. Furthermore, the fully rotational swivel bayonet fitting rotates a full 360 degrees, allowing for easy connections even when the dump station inlet is positioned awkwardly relative to your rig.
Crafted from superior quality materials, this accessory is built to endure the harsh conditions of outdoor living, including exposure to sunlight, chemicals, and rough handling. The detachable elbow design also offers a streamlined storage solution, fitting easily into compact camper storage areas without taking up excessive space. This product is perfect for RVers who value efficiency and cleanliness. If you are strictly minimizing weight for ultra-lightweight travel, this added mass might be a consideration, though the durability and functionality usually outweigh the slight increase in bulk.

In my opinion, I would buy the Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV if my primary goal was maintaining a clean and efficient RV setup, but for the specific context of boat ownership mentioned earlier, the Ampper 2 is the superior choice for safety. Boat owners often struggle with limited sightlines when docking, and the Ampper 2 directly addresses that risk by providing a wide, unobstructed view of the water around the vessel. While the Camco product is a marvel of engineering for RV sanitation, the Ampper 2 solves a critical safety problem that could otherwise lead to accidents. If you are a boat owner, the peace of mind gained from eliminating blind spots is worth more than the convenience of a specialized sewer adapter. Both are excellent tools for their respective jobs, but for maritime safety, the Ampper 2 takes the lead.
The Ampper 2 mirrors are explicitly designed for exterior use and are waterproof and rust-resistant, making them ideal for boats and trucks. The Camco RhinoFlex Clear RV is designed specifically for RV sewer systems and is not intended for marine applications.
Installation requires cleaning the original mirror surface thoroughly with alcohol, pressing the mirror onto the black pivot base, and then pressing down hard to ensure the adhesive bonds firmly to prevent falling off during use.
Yes, the 4-in-1 adapter fits four common inlet sizes (4", 3 ½", 3" NPT, and 3" slip), ensuring compatibility with most campground setups across North America.
No, the detachable elbow is designed for compact storage and fits easily into typical camper storage areas, though it is slightly larger and heavier than basic plastic fittings.
