Amílcar Rafael Torres-Quijano is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. He earned his bachelor's of Science in physics from the "Universidad de Puerto Rico Recinto de Río Piedras'' (UPRRP). He then worked as a software developer for General Motors and as a mathematics and science tutor for students of all ages. Since then, he has obtained a master's degree and Doctoral degree in physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). At present he is a High School Computer Science Teacher in San Antonio. He has specialized in small exoplanet research, machine learning, and data science.
