This unique storytelling event brings local stories to Seattle Rep through the incredible writers of the Omoide group and a special performance of In Shadows, a composition written by Paul Kikuchi in collaboration with Omoide writers.

To date, the Omoide (memories) team has helped dozens of people to preserve their own stories through the monthly writing workshops, publishing five Omoide books for children, containing stories from Omoide contributors, and have shared their stories with several thousand students, teachers, and members of the general public over the past 30 years.

Omoide is a program of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington (JCCCW) and is led by a group of volunteers who help coach, critique and edit writing workshop participants. Omoide I was published in 1993. Currently, the group is working on and collecting stories for Omoide VI.

The event will feature readings of memories written down by members of Omoide, poems, and a special musical performance of In Shadows, a composition written by Paul Kikuchi in collaboration with Omoide writers. Net ticket proceeds go to support the publishing of the next Omoide writing collection.

In October 2016, Murphy stated that a future season of the show would feature a return/continuation of Coven. He stated that this is not the theme for season 7, but a later season. He also confirmed that Lady Gaga's character from Roanoke is the first Supreme.[19] Later that month, Murphy announced that the season would be a Coven and Murder House crossover continuation. Merging stories, themes, and characters. He also stated that he had begun reaching out to actors from both seasons to reprise their respective roles. In 2018, Murphy announced the eighth season, Apocalypse, which would be the crossover season. Apocalypse follows the world after a nuclear holocaust, and the events leading up to the end of the world, principally, the witches' fight against Michael Langdon, the antichrist who was born in Murder House.[20]

Their united opposition to any softening of Cuba policy eventually shaped them into a powerful force in US politics, especially in Florida. And that meant deference from US politicians, which continues today. They became an important part of the political base, especially for the Republican Party, because Republicans take a harder line against Cuba and because the Cubans tended to be Catholic and socially conservative.

Christopher Maier, the assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity warfare, praised the Marines who protected and defended the embassy during the past week. "Our Marines who protect many of our embassies overseas do not often get the credit they deserve," he said. "Their courage under duress represents America as its best again in this instance."

Material culture goes beyond the relationship between people and things, it informs a way of knowing. Utilizing photogravures specific to Indigenous material culture by Edward S. Curtis as a starting gate, this exhibition displays correlating Native art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The show is presented in three sections: Southwest Pueblo pottery, California basketry, and Northwest Coast carving and textiles. Each section reflects on how objects harbor memories and tell stories about a time, a place, and a people.

This exhibition is organized by The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art and Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, curator, historian and artist. The quilts have been created by the Women of Color Quilters Network especially for this exhibition.
