Amazon SERP Scraper is a Chrome extension that reads the Amazon search
results page you are currently viewing and exports the visible product
data (position, ASIN, brand, title, price, rating, review count, badges,
and similar publicly displayed information) to a CSV file you download to
your own device.
This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with
your data.
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
- This extension does not operate a server, and does not transmit any data
it reads to us or to any third party.
- We do not track your browsing history.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties.
- No account, login, or personal information is required or collected to
use this extension.
WHAT THE EXTENSION ACTUALLY DOES
When you click "Export results to CSV" on an Amazon search results page,
the extension reads the product listings already rendered in your browser
— the same information visible to you on the page — and generates a CSV
file locally, in your browser, which is then downloaded to your computer
through your browser's normal download mechanism.
No network request is made to any server other than the Amazon page you
are already viewing. The extension does not fetch additional pages, does
not paginate automatically, and does not run in the background — it acts
only when you click the export button.
WHAT THE EXTENSION STORES, AND WHERE
The extension keeps a small local record of your most recent export (the
number of products found and the search keyword used) so the popup can
show you a quick summary. This is stored using Chrome's built-in local
storage (chrome.storage.local), directly on your own device. It is never
uploaded, synced to any server, or accessible to anyone but you.
PERMISSIONS THIS EXTENSION USES, AND WHY
- Read and change data on Amazon websites: needed to read the product
listings on the search results page you're viewing, so they can be
exported. Access is limited to Amazon's own domains — this extension
cannot read or act on any other website.
- Storage: needed to remember your most recent export summary, locally on
your device, as described above.
A NOTE ON WHAT THIS EXTENSION READS
This extension only reads information that Amazon already displays
publicly on the search results page in your own browser — the same
product titles, prices, and ratings you can see and read yourself. It does
not access your Amazon account, order history, payment information, or
any data that requires being logged in.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
This extension is a general-purpose research and data-export tool and is
not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from
children, in part because it does not collect personal information from
anyone.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
will be revised. Continued use of the extension after a change means you
accept the updated policy.
