If you want a reliable, versatile pair of open-ear headphones for daily riding and general sports where Bluetooth connectivity is non-negotiable, choose Amazon Renewed SHOKZ OpenMove; if you need a specialized, fully waterproof unit built specifically for underwater swimming or intense water sports with dedicated MP3 storage, choose MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone.
• Amazon Renewed SHOKZ OpenMove: Its biggest strength is the versatile Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity combined with a lightweight titanium frame that stays secure during low-impact activities, but its trade-off is a shorter six-hour battery life compared to some competitors. This pick is for riders and runners who prioritize situational awareness and seamless phone integration over extreme water resistance.
• MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone: Its biggest strength is the IPX8 waterproof rating and built-in 32GB storage that allows for true independence from a phone while swimming, but its trade-off is the inability to use Bluetooth underwater and a more niche application focused solely on aquatic environments. This pick is for swimmers and water-sport enthusiasts who need a device that can withstand full immersion without losing audio quality.
The SHOKZ OpenMove is engineered for the rider who needs to hear the world around them while enjoying their music. As an open-ear design utilizing bone conduction technology, it bypasses the ear canal entirely, transmitting sound through the cheekbone. This makes it arguably one of the best neckband headphones for motorcycle use because it keeps your ears completely open to traffic noise, wind, and sirens, significantly enhancing safety on the road. The wraparound titanium frame is not just a style choice; it provides a structural integrity that keeps the headphones in place during light jogs or everyday commutes, ensuring they do not slip even when you are moving at speed.
For the active user, the comfort factor is paramount. Weighing only 29 grams, this headset feels almost weightless on the head, allowing for all-day listening without the fatigue often associated with traditional in-ear buds. The material choice matters here; the skin-friendly build ensures that long rides do not result in sore pressure points behind the ears. If you are looking for the best fast charging neckband headphones for motorcycle adventures where you might need a quick top-up before hitting the road again, the two-hour charge time gets you back to full capacity relatively quickly, though the six-hour average life means you will need to charge it daily if you ride for extended periods.

However, this product is not for everyone. If your primary activity involves submerging your head in water, such as lap swimming or diving, the SHOKZ OpenMove is not the right tool for the job. While it is sweatproof and designed for workouts, it lacks the IPX8 rating required for full underwater immersion. Furthermore, if you are looking for high-fidelity bass response in a sealed environment, you should skip this model; the open-ear design prioritizes environmental awareness over sound isolation, meaning you will hear the outside world just as clearly as your audio. It is best suited for those who value safety and connectivity above absolute silence.
The MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone model is a specialized piece of hardware designed for a very specific, demanding environment: water. With an IPX8 waterproof rating, these headphones are built to resist water immersion, making them ideal for tackling water sports like swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Unlike standard wireless headphones that panic when splashed, this unit is constructed with a skin-friendly, ultra-soft liquid silicone overmold that creates a seal capable of withstanding the pressure of being fully submerged. This makes it the definitive choice for anyone who considers the pool or the ocean their gym, offering a level of durability that dry-air headphones simply cannot match.
What sets this model apart for the serious swimmer is the inclusion of a built-in 32GB MP3 player. In many cases, carrying a phone to the pool deck is inconvenient or impossible, and even if you do, Bluetooth signals do not transmit effectively through water. By storing up to 10 hours of music directly on the device (via magnetic charging and computer access), you gain total freedom from your smartphone. You can download playlists via a computer and dive straight into the water with your music. The ergonomic ear-hook design ensures that even during vigorous strokes or flips, the headphones stay secure and do not shift, distributing pressure evenly so you can focus on your laps rather than adjusting your gear.
Despite its impressive aquatic capabilities, there are limitations that define who this product is for. First, you must understand that Bluetooth mode is not supported underwater; you must rely entirely on the MP3 mode for swimming. If you plan to listen to podcasts streamed from your phone while running on the beach, this device will not work for you unless you pre-load everything onto the internal memory. Additionally, the microphone requires careful maintenance; you must dry it thoroughly after every swim to prevent call issues, which adds a small step to your post-workout routine. It is not a "set it and forget it" daily driver for commuting; it is a precision instrument for water-based athletics.

After weighing the specifications and real-world applications, I would buy the Amazon Renewed SHOKZ OpenMove for my personal needs. While the MARLALL is an incredible machine for the pool, its limitations regarding Bluetooth underwater make it too niche for general use. The SHOKZ OpenMove strikes the perfect balance between safety, comfort, and versatility, especially for motorcycle riding where hearing your surroundings is critical. Its titanium frame and bone conduction technology provide a secure fit without sacrificing situational awareness, making it the most practical choice for an active lifestyle that extends beyond just the water.
Yes, the MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone is excellent for swimming because it features an IPX8 waterproof rating and built-in 32GB MP3 storage, allowing you to play music without a phone. However, the SHOKZ OpenMove is not rated for underwater use and should be avoided in pools or oceans.
