Description: In this talk, we will discuss how story problems are a reflection of the culture prevalent in mathematics classrooms and we will examine the norms shown in them. Through this examination, we can better understand how students from marginalized groups feel in mathematics classrooms and how we can make efforts to help those students feel included in mathematics.
