• Through this project, we wanted to raise awareness on the potential impact of Chinese state-run social media accounts.

• Using different visualizations, we try to find out:

  • How many accounts are controlled by the Chinese State?

  • Where are their influence and region of focus?

  • What are frequently seen in their user account names? 

  • How many subscribers / followers are there to the accounts controlled by the Chinese state?

  • What are the potential impact on the highest subscribed platforms:

• Dataset collection from Global Affairs Canada and CANIS Hackathlon 2

• Data Cleaning, Wrangling and Splitting using Jupyter Notebook and pandas library
