I'm using the Download tool to post my API and send some data as the last step of my workflow, but i'm getting the error "Error transfering data: SSL connect error" on the tool and I can't figure out as to why.

I'm getting Error transferring data: SSL connect error when using the Download tool to call to an API. I just upgraded to 2022.1. I reinstalled 2021.4 and it worked on that version. I've also verified the keys/client Id work on Postman. Any ideas what changed in the upgrade?

Alteryx Download Tool Error Transferring Data Ssl Connect Error

So after a lot of digging and googling, the solution to why my download tool was suddenly giving this error after upgrading to 2022.1, was because Alteryx from 2022.1 is attempting to renegotiate handshakes. Our software vendor is using NetScaler, which has the default setting of deny-all-reneg. Reaching out to our vendor confirmed this was the cause. After they updated the setting to deny-insecure the issue was resolved.

We're using the download tool for sending an XML request to a website and then retrieving the output. It works as expected locally in Alteryx Designer, however on Alteryx Server we receive "Error transferring data: Couldn't connect to server". I searched the forums for this topic already, but couldn't find anything describing the scenario where it works locally but not on server.

So weirdly enough, IT was able to run the workflow directly from the machine hosting the server environment. But when attempting to run it from gallery "Error transferring data: Couldn't connect to server " is received.

Let's say example if i trying to retrieve data from a URL using Download, and is intermittently throwing the error message Error Transfering data Couldn't connect to the server. Despite making over 100 calls, most of which were successful, a few failed with the error message. These issues appear to be random and we have yet to discover any pattern or explanation for the error message.

Background - We had made some changes to the Salesforce Output Connector - basically in the download tool, as in to have 'Data' selected from 'Headers' section in Download tool inside 'add batches to the job' sub module, propagated that forward to 'retrieve batch results' sub module, followed by some simple transformations to capture error record details along with the error message in a file.

But I believe that since error is not occuring for original salesforce output connector, deprecated version of salesforce output connector, less number of records, it should be something other than LAN settings.

I noticed that after using salesforce input or output connectors a couple of times, I always get this error : "Failure when recieving data from the peer". Also, another thing I noticed is that, when I reboot my laptop, I do not get the error for some time.

I am using API via in order to pull e-invoices in xml format from e-invoice integration system. Previously, I tried it in test environment and it worked correctly. Now, I am trying it in the same way at the production environment, get an error which is "Couldn't connect to server"

Here are a few screenshots to show that everything is exactly the same as the link. I've triple checked my login/pw. The container with the SharePoint and Browse works great and exports to SharePoint perfectly the way I want in .csv. Also, I've logged in to the test ftp location manually to make sure it exists. Also, I was getting a string limit error in the formula tool. So, I changed it from 64 to 256, and still got an error. I'm missing something and hope you can help.

Hi,

i've searched through the forum this error but i can't find a solution, as there's no proxy or firewall setting issues preventing this!

The files are created on the destination folder as expected but empty as on the print screen.

Might you have an explanation for this?

The download tool takes an ftp file path and a destination path as arguments as well as user and pass.

I am exploring building an API through Alteryx to access some hosted data. Having built a simple workflow (an API URL feeding into a Download tool), i am receiving the message Error transferring data: Failure when receiving data from the peer.

When the client hired Indicium, they had dozens of Alteryx workflows built and running daily solely for the marketing team, which was the focus of the project. For the marketing team, the Alteryx workflows had to be executed in the correct order since they were interdependent, which means one Alteryx workflow used the outcome of the previous one, and so on. The main Alteryx workflows run daily by the marketing team took about 6 hours to run. Another important aspect to consider was that if a model had not finished running when the next one downstream began to run, the data would be incomplete, requiring the workflow to be run again. The execution of all models was usually scheduled to run overnight and by early morning, so the data would be up to date the next day. But if there was an error the night before, the data would be incorrect or out of date. Figure 3 exemplifies the scheduler.

Successfully converting an entire set of data workflows from the Alteryx engine to dbt is surely not a trivial task, but the implementation of this framework, as a result of a trial-and-error learning process from the team, allowed us to accelerate this process, while its data auditing focus enabled delivering data with visible and automated quality assurance.
